I can't believe I'm going to say this, especially having known what was coming and tremendously, tremendously dreading it but....that was the most phenomenal episode of the entire series. Miguel Sapochnik is a genius. I'm sure there will be many who hated it, but I am in awe. Simply incredible. Absolutely, absodamnlutely. It was gorgeous in it's horror -- so so so beautifully done.

What they did to Jaime is awful, but I really love the cinematography and Arya's plot for this episode.
Normally I dislike Arya because she hasn't done anything interesting other than just killing people in the past few seasons, but Arya is one of the biggest highlights in this episode. She's going through real development as she realizes how much vengeance has overflown her when she sees Sandor leaving to kill off his brother. Arya listening to the Hound when he ask her does she want to become like him is so poignant. And the fact that she's involved in helping KL's people adds more strength to her character, probably the first time she's experience fear and sadness in quite a long time.
And damn props to the make-up team for making the injuries and bruises look horrifyingly real. Out of all the battles in the show that shows the brutality of war, this is the episode that topples Spoils of War and Blackwater.

So much for the Dothraki savages going on a raping spree...
I’m glad they depicted the northerners to be even worse.

See, now I am so glad I knew what was coming because it allowed me to actually enjoy it. I thought it was incredibly well done. Not thrilled with the story itself, but in terms of filmmaking, it was fantastic. Can't wait to hear from all the unsullied and what they thought It was magnificent for this unsullied, . Really, I love that those who wanted spoilers got them, but for me it was all a fresh, exhilarating-in-a-horrible-way experience. I agree with what you said in an earlier post, that it's the best episode in the entire series!

I didn't even mind the bells cos I didn't feel like it was the bells that made her attack What I got from that was that she just realized they will never love or respect her, all was lost because the news about Jon is out. Even Jon turned her down, no love for her. I mean it wasn't a smart move or the right thing to do but I didn't mind the way it was done.

I cried several times - and I don't usually cry during Game of Thrones (unless direwolves die).... The scene with Jaime and Tyrion saying goodbye was the particularly tear jerky for me, which surprised me. It was incredibly touching though. Kit Harington did an unbelievable job simply with his facial expressions this episode. His face showed every tiny emotion I was feeling. From the horror that the woman he loved has lost her mind, to the horror of what was about to happen to the horror of what was happening to the complete helplessness... I know there are a LOT of serious Cleganebowl fans, but for me - this was the PERFECT Cleganebowl. On the stairs of the Red Keep, with it crumbling around them - and then the mirror with Arya... ...which bring me to another weepy moment I lost it - the Sandor/Arya goodbye. OMG - when he grabbed her face? I'm getting teary just thinking about it now. I loved everything about this episode. I hate hate hate where the story went, but ....it was perfect. I should have trusted D&D (and GRRM). I have trusted them this far, they generally haven't disappointed me before and then this past week I lost the faith - I should have kept it. Brilliant . Channeling Arya, I feel like I'm coughing smoke and dust, grit in my teeth, in my nose and eyes. Astonishing episode. Just astonishing. *coughs* LOL, EXACTLY THIS!!!

How the fuck did Tyrion get Davos to agree with aiding the escape of Jaime and Cersei?

I was going to use bold text, but I'd be bolding every single thing you said! I also loved Arya and the horse - two shell shocked survivors.

Can't wait to hear from all the unsullied and what they thought!! This unsullied is in absolute, horrified shock. Still trying to process. I'll quote iheartseverus who summed up how I feel too: Channeling Arya, I feel like I'm coughing smoke and dust, grit in my teeth, in my nose and eyes. Astonishing episode. Just astonishing. *coughs* I'm ... shell-shocked too. Being on the ground with the people (and Arya) was a really clever camera choice for emotional impact. Wow. My brain hated it but my emotions absolutely loved everything. I was completely entertained and completely disgusted at the same time. I think I've never felt that way before, it was brilliant. I think once I'm able to choke it all down I will feel similarly but right now I'm in tears for how this played out. Nothing at all what I expected and really tragic to be honest. Really, I love that those who wanted spoilers got them, but for me it was all a fresh, exhilarating-in-a-horrible-way experience. I normally hate this kind of thing. I guess I wanted something I expected and didn't realize how comfy I was in that place. If I'm like a lot of the general audience, this is going to take some time to understand why I needed to be shocked this way. I don't understand (yet) why Daenerys would snap when she had victory so close at hand. All she had to do was take out Cersei in the Red Keep and the city was hers. I am trying to fathom why this entire story arc was to prove she was just another mad Targaryen. If this is why y'all were having a huge uproar in the leakbowl forums, I get it and I'm still glad I stayed unsullied and was taken completely off-guard by this. I can speak on behalf of the majority of the fandom at large who never would have found the leaks - this shit is going to break the internet and I am sure the aftermath in the finale is worse. I will be staying away from news feeds, youtube and everything else for my sanity this week.

Finnaly KL is gone. Daenerys choice was fear, not love anymore. And it made sense. They will never love her, but after this they will fear her for sure lol

And Dany called Grey Worm by his actual name, Togar Hodath, something like that. I'll have to watch it again to get the name right. But, it was a...moment.
