This is really a great one - they do such a great job on these Beautiful Death posters! It took me a minute to realize that the shadowed, right half of "Walder's" face is mirrored in the dark patch on the opposite side of the wolf's face in the reflection in the ice. That's weird and complicated and so cool. It's the opposites, black and white theme!

I also especially love the twin towers drawing in the middle ground behind the candles and the broken bridge that symbolizes the fall of the Frey house.

The Walder poster is really cool. I love that they had Walder himself watching (and orchestrating) the end of his family. This scene wouldn't have been half as good or as meaningful if it was just Arya poisoning everyone.
Besides, we know from the books that Faceless Men don't just swap faces. They assume the entire identity of the dead person including some of their emotions and memories. That's how David Bradley played it imo: half Walder Frey, half Arya.

This is the first episode where I actually looked up all the actors listed in the ending credits. I had no idea that Ian Whyte (7'1") played a White Walker in S1 and in S2, also played Gregor Clegane in S2, played Dongo the Giant in S3 and S4, and played Wun Wun in S5 and S6. So he would've played one of the undead giants in this episode. Neil Fingleton (7'7") had played Mag Mar Tun Doh Weg in "Watchers on the Wall" and would have played another of the undead giants. The sad thing is that Fingleton died in February of this year of a heart attack, age 36. Didn't see any other credits who could have played the third giant, so I'm gonna chalk that up to tricks of the camera.

Anyone else find it slightly odd that all of the Lord of Light visions have to do with ice/the Night King/the army of the dead? Is there nothing else on his mind? I'm starting to think these visions are sent by the Night King tbh. LEAK SPOILERS The vision in this episode lures everyone into going to Eastwatch-by-the-Sea. Yet no one gains anything from that except the Night King: he gets a dragon. The wight could have been captured anywhere else. Hmmm.... I guess they could also be sent by Bran, or maybe the flames just intercept the visions of the Three-Eyed Raven and nobody "sends" them. Either way, I doubt the Lord of Light exists and is sending these things.

It only seemed odd to me that Sandor could so clearly see these visions the very first time he looks into the flames. I thought it took a lot of practice and priestess training for Melisandre to be able to even see a glimmer of visions that were mostly not entirely correct or skewed. Sandor's a greater Red Priest than Melisandre it seems! Mel apparently saw the battles of Winterfell and those weren't in direct relation to the Night King, just the men who would be important to dfeating him (Jon being the primary focus in the second part). Who knows, maybe Stannis HAD to be a part of the prophecy, not as the prince who was promised, but as the only man with armies willing to help at the wall and save the wildlings with Jon.

Clearly you're forgetting about Cleganebowl. Sandor seeing a mountain in the flames? They're practically throwing the hints in our faces! Sandor's a greater Red Priest than Melisandre it seems! Didn't Stannis see stuff on his first try as well? It doesn't seem like a very hard thing to do. Both Sandor and Stannis only had to "keep looking" to recieve a vision. Makes me wonder if anyone sees visions by accident if they look at a fire too long

True, though Stannis could also read the flames with the help of Melisandre. I think Thoros had an intuition that Sandor would be able to do it too. Whoever/whatever is behind these visions seems to be following the Brotherhood closely.

Also, the Archmaester's traditionalist view that things will stay as they are will prove to be important imo.
I think this is a clue that nothing will stay as it is once the show is done--not only will the Wall fall, but the monarchy and the whole system will probably be toppled as well. Oldtown seems to represent the old status quo same as King's Landing and the Night's Watch, so they're probably screwed. They're just more intellectual about it.

LOL, exactly! Never assume the sun will rise tomorrow just because it's done that every day.... GRRM seems to have taken Hume's warning literally

Awesome find. I was hoping that drawing would have something to do with the seasons, too But this is still cool. I always loved the theory that the maesters are stalling progress in some way. Maybe the show will confirm it (or not.)
