Hey y'all ... I'm just popping in to say how happy I am to see you proud, brave few holding down the fort here. The discussions unfolding here have been a breath of fresh air. I'd like to join in, but with only two days left until the next episode, I think I'm going to try a wild experiment and stay mostly off the Internet this weekend. As much as I adore Game of Thrones, this has been one of the more exhausting weeks in fandom I can ever remember, and I think it's for the best if I disengage and try to recharge my batteries for this Sunday. We'll see how that goes, but in the meantime ...

I think it's for the best if I disengage and try to recharge my batteries for this Sunday. We'll see how that goes, but in the meantime ... This is probably the smartest things for any of us staying afloat here can do right now. Me too. I'll check back in but I need to stop making big long rambling essays in the other parts of the forum, only to remember the intended audience probably knows enough from leakbowl that my points are lost. See y'all on Sunday night!

The list that I posted above isn't actually mine -- it's one I compiled from the thread we have on this forum (housewiththereddoor.freeforums.net/post/54181/thread). All I did was put the results of the survey in numerical order b/c it was easier for me to keep tract of that way, and I just replicated that in my post.
I've never expected both Dany and Jon to be alive at the end, but I've always thought Dany would be the one to die. IDK why, and I have heard a lot of others who think Jon will die. He might just be too damned tired of fighting for 'justice', but it'd be a shame now that he finally knows he's not a bastard. I'm afraid Dany is at a pretty high risk of dying, getting shot down while riding Drogon.
Cersei will die (I still think by Jaime but could be Euron), but at any rate I think they all three of them are goners. Cersei's on Arya's list but I don't think Arya will kill her (though she does know the 'secret' way into the Red Keep d/t getting lost chasing the cat in S1). I think Arya will live and go sailing west of Westeros, like she told Lady Crane she wanted to do.
Varys will go, of course, but I've always thought Tyrion would live. Now reading these posts, I'm not so sure.
I expect both Davos and Gendry to live and end up at Storm's End. Sandor will die killing Gregor. Greyworm will die exacting vengeance for Missandei. Perhaps Pod will live simply because he's back at WF w/ Brienne.
And I hope to God somebody kills Bronn. I don't think I can forgive him for turning against Jaime and Tyrion.

I have never cared for the idea of Jon being a dragon rider (or three dragon riders for that matter....yeah, the dragon has three heads, but they all didn't need to be ridden). Particularly after Dany uses Drogon as a bus, the rider element was just not enchanting to me. I also feel Jon is at his best with his feet on the ground. He may have dragon blood, but his soul is a wolf. However....what would be pretty cool would be Rhaegal at some critical point and of his own accord, landing next to Jon and presenting his neck for him to mount - in order to make a final siege. A dragon riding moment as opposed to Rhaegal's official "rider". I predict a really nice Arya/Hound moment - maybe even the two of them fighting side by side, which would make me beam with happiness. I want them to be an alternative version of Dunk and Egg and after the great war, go off on adventures together lol....(not a prediction, just a wish). I predict the Hound's shoulder being there for Tormund to cry on when he realizes now that Jaime is in the picture (albeit potentially just temporarily - his is probably a likely eventual death), no one stands a chance for Brienne's affection.....I predict Gendry will have a notable role to play in the final season. I predict (show only) that Cersei with die one of two ways - either at Jaime's hands because she's gone mad or by burning to death because she's gone mad. And I think this is one of the areas the book and the show will be VERY different. Like Envie I do not want to even touch Jon/Dany predictions because there is only one outcome I am okay with and I don't want to debate the reasons that can/won't happen lol I'm just going to hold my breath on that one, and cling to the SHIPPER thread for every tiny piece of potential evidence that helps my cause to keep the faith. Holy shit, that is one stunningly accurate prediction. From 2017 no less! Even though The Hound tells him to f*** off, this is basically the scene we were given last episode.

Haha, that's great Maesteress - you got that one completely right! You were also right about Hound/Arya having a nice moment, they're back together traveling too. Gendry is having a very 'notable' final season as the new Lord of The Stormlands no less! We may not see how that plays out against Cersei but it's a nice afterthought for his future in Westeros. I don't think very many of my own predictions came true at all. This has been a shocker of a season finale so far. I'm also sad that speculation dried up for the at-large members of our forum due to the leaks. But for those of us survivors clinging to our unsullied raft, I guess we can borrow a quote from Tormund.

I always thought I pretty much had D&D figured out, so....lol BUT - I think GRRM's influence is throwing me for a loop with the Jon and Dany storyline, and I don't particularly like where it seems to be going (which is probably why I didn't touch that one with my prediction). Tonight will be interesting for sure!! I'm just so happy Ghost is ok (um, so far....he better stay up North and make Ghost babies).

K - I'm really afraid of going on the 8.06 Promo thread for fear of inadvertent spoilers, but I'm hoping to catch some Unsullied speculation here.
I've played the promo over and over - that shot of the red keep with a light in one window ... Dany taking over there? Last scene looks like she comes out to survey her armies/ followers at the top of the stairs of the RK where Margaery and Joff once stood to wave to the crowd.
Arya's tracking pretty close behind the Dothraki/ Unsullied forces with 'that look' on her face, a new person on her list?
Davos and Jon walking through the ruins - so Jon still has his 'for-all-practical-purposes' "Hand". Tyrion walking through the ruins as well, but alone, and Dany alone at last scene. Goes without saying that she's lost her Hand ... what individual person does she have beside her now other than GW?

I went back and re-read my original predictions in this thread - man I was wrong on so many levels. I've processed my grief over Dany's descent into the dark place she went. I don't want to believe she's fully mad-queen like her father but I guess it could really be, sadly where it goes. It just really makes her entire Essos 'learning to rule wisely' arc feel completely useless. Now, it's all broken. As she said to Tyrion "No, it doesn't matter now." She made up her mind to go fire and blood before the battle even began. I still can't believe it but that's where we are. And so, as our last week of unsullied plays out. I have to think really hard on the ending for this after the total destruction of King's Landing. Really, there are only a handful of ways this could go, and I honestly do not like any of the outcomes. 1. If she's not mad, Daenerys leaves Westeros to Jon and flies away on Drogon to Essos as an exiled queen. This one is the least likely outcome, I think. 2. If she's truly mad, Dany tries to kill Jon somehow (with Drogon) and either succeeds or fails and dies in the process. 3. Uncertain (hanging) ending: Daenerys takes over the ruins of King's Landing as the Queen of Ashes (ruling mostly from Dragonstone) and rules the rest of Westeros with fear tactics leaving the story right where GoT began, with someone taking her out somehow (Arya?). 4. Neither Jon or Dany die, but neither takes the throne, or stays together - allowing a council of Lords to form a Federation (Gendry, Sansa, Tyrion, Sam, Robin, Edmure, etc)... 5. Jon is forced to kill Daenerys but also dies in the process. I can't see this being repaired in a way where the two of them marry and rule together and I don't see her stepping aside peacefully to allow Jon to rule and her living somewhere in seclusion or exile either though her going back to Meereen could be a possible outcome that could work. I don't see Jon wanting the throne either and so unless she just takes over where Cersei left off, as Queen of Ashes, the only obvious outcome is for Daenerys to die and Jon to abdicate the throne and refuse to rule. "My watch is ended."

Personally I don't think Dany is mad, so I like the idea of her making the conscious decision that this whole Westeros conquest tour was a catastrophe and that it's time to leave. She can return to Essos where she showed she is capable of enacting some real change.
Probably not happening though...
Darkest possible ending would be Dany trying to execute Sansa... this would not end well. I think she's more likely to want to execute Tyrion if she's still in episode 5 mode.

Darkest possible ending would be Dany trying to execute Sansa... this would not end well. I think she's more likely to want to execute Tyrion if she's still in episode 5 mode. I considered this as a possible lead-in to her being killed by Arya, or Jon, or the northerners somehow. If she decides to seek out revenge on Sansa or because she knows Sansa won't ever follow her (and probably no one will now) she could fly north alone or maybe she starts marching northward with her army again... seems unlikely though with only the final episode to play out whatever ending is left. 80 or so minutes doesn't seem like enough time to flesh out any sort of retaliation type moves on either side, really - another army is just going to materialize on the doorstep of the other side? I think the wars are over now. I'm also pretty certain she's going to want to execute Tyrion for freeing Jaime if the unsullied guards reported that after the fact. It happened just before the battle so it's hard to say if that was revealed or not but obviously they don't still have him and it's going to get out he let him go. Not sure how it matters since he didn't succeed in escaping with Cersei anyway but the fact that Tyrion freed him to do that is at the very least betrayal of Dany's trust and he can't be her hand at all after that. I wonder if Tyrion, or anyone, will even know what happened to Cersei and Jaime. They were buried under many layers of rubble far at the bottom of the red keep's underground layers. Who is going to dig that up to find out? I am guessing the dinghy left for them will be evidence they never made it out. Will Jon try to save Tyrion? What will Jon do now? It's all so uncertain even in the finale episode. Every time I try to unravel this in my head (and this is the first time I tried to type it out), I get discouraged and quit and say I don't think I can stand to watch the finale at all.

That's why I was thinking of KL b/c I just don't think there's that much space on Dragonstone For all those troops to line up and spread out in formation. And I wasn't sure Arya would be on Dragonstone, either. There is that shot of what's left of the RK that looks like light is coming from a window, and I thought that was probably Dany.
