Anyone other than Dany killing UnViserion would be a missed opportunity. It will be really tragic that she has to do it herself, and make for some great drama. Not to mention it’ll probably be the only dragon vs dragon aerial combat we get, which could be all kinds of awesome.

Ice dragon taking down the Wall is D&D's idea. That is clear from Inside the episode where they talked how they came up with that. I agree with this. I think the ice dragon is definitely from grrm, but in the books I would bet on the wall falling as a result of the horn.

That's how I think it'll go down, especially as Drogon is the only one who could take him down, I don't think Rhaegal could do it. ETA: Also, technically speaking, it is a Dance of Dragons, and GRRM said there would be a second one.

Well I agree really. In the books it's likely to be Dany and Faegon, The Dance of Dragons being a specific reference to a Targaryen civil war, so I don't think Martin means Drogon vs Unviserion.
At the same time I don't think Dany and Jon are destined to live a long and happy life together.

Except that the House of the Undying prophecy has the mummer's dragon i.e. Varys' Aegon in the slayer of lies section of Dany's prophecy and... WAIT! Everyone hold your horses! I just had a breakthrough in ASOIAF theory here! The stone dragon breathing shadow fire in the slayer of lies section is Viserion! Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! The stone dragon has always been a part that I never understood but now it makes sense. The three lies Dany must slay are: Stannis being the true heir to the Iron Throne, Aegon being her a Targaryen and the Ice Dragon being a true dragon. Any thoughts?

We also know Edd Tollet will be back so CB will figure into things somehow. I think Tormund and Beric will run into him before going to WF. And then we know that Alys Karstark and Ned Umber will be back too, so at the very least we'll see them and other Northern lords arriving at WF before the WWs show up there (things were set up in s7 to shelter as many Northerners as possible in WF in s8). Or else we might even see an attack on Last Hearth or something prior, I dunno. But all these things would seem to play against the WWs attacking the winter town right off the bat. As well as Jon and Dany's arrival there etc.

We know Tormund and Beric are going to run along the wall, they survived on the side that didn't fall, likely so they can get to Castle Black, warn the men there and head to Winterfell. Edd is probably going to be in that mix and is considered a minor character I think. I like how they set it up that Winterfell was taking on as much extra grain as possible (under Sansa's direction) which makes it probable everyone will shelter there as predicted. Definitely going to be a big siege there!

Battle for WF will be in E3. Cogman and Hill are doing E1 and E2. And there is no way that D&D will let them write a major battle scene. That never happened. And Sapochnik is doing E3.
I mean I could see Nutter doing battle episode as well, since they wanted him to direct "The Spoils of War", but there is no way that Cogman or Hill will write that episode, so WF battle will be in E3.
What will happen in the Winter Town in E1? I have no idea.

Are we sure there is a battle for Winterfell? In a 6 episode season E3 seems a long time to wait for The Army of the Dead to get there.
