moiaf @nictarion is there still a 24 hour rule on making avatars of the current episode? It's been so long, I don't remember. I’m fine with if alcasinoroyale and moiaf are. Honestly people shouldn’t get too upset about being spoiled on a GoT board after an episode airs... Yeah I agree. A lot of gifs from the episode have already circulated on the Internet by this point so it's inevitable.

Wonder what Bronn will do. Doubt he has the heart to kill the Lannister brothers. He’ll probably ride North North to hang out with them and be like LOL she thought. Dude got paid up front too. This was not a particularly well-thought out plan.Cersei’s specialty

Is anyone else as amused as I am that Bran just sat his ass in the courtyard for days waiting to stare down Jaime? ETA: izzue don't worry, I wasn't talking about future leaks. Just the fact that a description of this particular episode that we've seen leaked and it watched differently then it read. Yes, we have no time for squabbles, the night King is our focus, now excuse while I just sit here waiting for Jaime.

In theory Sam should hate his father, but that isn't Sam. He doesn't hate, he just gets disappointed. So him being upset about Randyll dying isn't unrealistic. Children can dislike parents, but when said parent dies, it doesn't mean they won't be upset. Sometimes it can hit harder when they don't get on. Expecting Sam to not be angry is unrealistic. From his perspective, had people known about Jon, his father and brother might still be alive, because Dany probably wouldn't be trying to conquer the seven kingdoms. Yes, very much this. Dysfunctional families are very complicated and while you can hate a parent and never want to see them again you can also feel very sad and hurt finding out they have died. And as you point out Sam especially is a person who doesn't hate, he would never wish his father dead and has every right to be shocked to hear what happened.

Yeah I can't see him killing Tyrion or Jaime either. He's definitely going to be caught up in the WF battle, change his mind, and maybe use that crossbow to launch dragonglass arrows at the AotD. Bronn’s arrival might also be the final break between Jaime and Cersei. Like a breakup is one thing, but now you’re sending assassins after me? Any potential for them getting back together just got tanked, probablty. I feel like they're setting up Valonqar prophecy with Bronn being sent to kill both of them. This will be the last straw for Jaime and knowing what Nikolaj said. But they did not use this prophecy before because saving it for shock value or just lazy writing.

I guess I didn't notice they just sort of left Bran sitting out there in the courtyard all that time. Everyone just sort of ignoring him as they go about their work... Still, it was a great line for him to say "Waiting for an old friend" to Sam, just before Jaime arrives.

Yes, I always agreed with you. Jon's real devastation in the reveal was going to be realizing Ned wasn't really his father and hid it from him his whole life. Nevermind the reasons and how it affected Ned's life and marriage ... Jon will feel betrayed or lied to and will have to reconcile that first before the rest of it. Exact;y! Jon will eventually come to appreciate Ned’s sacrifice and love him more for it but for now it’s the betrayal of his whole indentity, something Jon has struggle with his whole life. Jon was always proud to be Neds son, he really still is. It's not like Rhaegar raised him. Both Sam and Jon are in emotional moments, and Sam did try to clearify why Ned had to lie to protect him but the scene cuts out after that so you get no real conversation. I think it really hurt when he found out his name was Aegon. Of all the damn names they could use.

I am not sure I understand why Bran has lost his empathy. The original Three Eyed Raven was not unemotional. He was serious, dour maybe, but he understood emotion - which is why he was so careful about what he wanted to show Bran. I know he tried to explain his behavior to Meera last season, but still....meh. I find myself becoming slightly annoyed with Friar Bran. For someone who is becoming all knowing, he seems to be ignoring important things. They seem to be having a hard time portraying him, yes. But I also thought that maybe he is intentionally distancing himself from others because he obviously knows things, knows peoples fate and knows where people need to end up. To a certain extent he is playing chess, placing the right pieces in the right places. Which makes me think it was totally intentional of him to send Sam to tell Jon about his parents just as Sam was angry at Daenerys and had an urge to push Jon to stake his claim.

I think omitting valonqar was the right move. GRRM confirming both Cersei’s death and her likely killer several books in advance was just a strange choice.

I haven't read this thread yet (I'm about to), but I'm just gonna say... shivers. Incredible episode.
The Winterfell drama is compelling in its entirety and also totally legitimate. It's already 100 times better written, better acted than Littlefinger vs. Starks. I never thought John Bradley would steal an episode... but he almost did. Of all the meetings, Sam-Dany was the most powerful for me.
I didn't think it was possible but we may be about to see Lena Headey's best season yet. Her microexpressions, her throne scene (her comic disgust/disappointment at the lack of elephants) and then her expression when Euron touches her belly... goddamn.
I couldn't find a single boring scene. Bronn's may have been the most low-key scene but it might be a big one... he could end up killing Jaime...
The Ned Umber White Walker art scene was nightmarish and straight out of Old Nan's tale and once again... children, sacrifices, WWs... this scene is obviously telling us something. There's a history here we don't know yet.
I loooved this episode. Also a beauty visually. Anyway I'm off to read this thread.

I'm trying to pull together some foreshadowing here for wtf Tyrion told Cersei in private off-screen during the dragonpit summit in season 7. The way Bran looked at Tyrion was seriously ominous.
