If they had Dany show disregard for the lives of the innocent women and children in pursuit of her ultimate goal, I think that would have made perfect sense and would have been in line with what we know about her (especially in light of recent events). But no, she actively made an effort to slaughter them in the tens of thousands. And that is such a cynical and mean-spirited way to end Dany's storyline after eight seasons of watching her learn and grow as a character. It makes me feel empty. That entire storyline almost feels like a take on the "Hell hath no fury" bullshit, and that to me is just sickening. Dany has already shown this disregard before tho. Not sure how she could expect not to slaughter tens of thousands of innocent women and children in the process of destroying the slaver cities.

As for the end of Cersei’s story
I feel so satisfied and unsatisfied at the same time. I wanted so much more yet and also content with what I got.

Not sure how she could expect not to slaughter tens of thousands of innocent women and children in the process of destroying the slaver cities. In S5 she said if innocent in Meeren die it will be for the greater good. And so is here. They didn't want to saved from Cersei(in Dany's opinion), so she destroyed them to build better world.

Not really. At that point, she had basically already won. She could have literally entered the Red Keep and sat down on the Iron Throne without any resistance. They didn't tell us why she decided to start murdering indiscriminately, but if the explanation really is just ... well, she's mad now, that would be pretty fucking lame, in my opinion.

They did give us an explanation though, I think. She realized they will not love her, she said so during the episode. She literally said that it will be fear then (Can't remember the exact words) and that's just what she chose at that moment. I saw something where Emilia was saying that she just let's her anger run over her, let's it loose for once.

Not sure how she could expect not to slaughter tens of thousands of innocent women and children in the process of destroying the slaver cities. She said the same in season 2. And she seemed pretty thrilled about Drogo's speech in S1. The potential has always been there. The question is did D&D make her final descent realistic? I'd say yes and no. I totally buy that Dany would do this but after having seen the episode, I think a couple more scenes in S8 could have helped to explain it. That being said, I think the sad truth about Dany as a character is that her good deeds were mostly driven by ambition instead of by the genuine wish to do good. She wanted the throne more than anything else. Literally. Why didn't she step aside for Jon? Why didn't she content herself with what she already had in Essos? People talk too much about how she wanted to revolutionise the world AKA "breaking the wheel", but not enough about her hunger for power. She says she is the rightful heir to the throne. Why? Because her family sat on it before? Are we really supposed to just accept that as a valid reason? At the end, people (in Westeros) didn't want her and she was unable to accept it. That's why we saw her at her worst last night. Her unwillingness to accept that she is unwanted is her hubris. She wanted to rule above all and when she didn't get the love of the people, she decided to inspire fear instead. "They can live in my new world or they can die in their old one." I think her generosity has been misinterpreted quite a bit...

The question is did D&D made her final descent realistic? I'd say yes and no I think there is no objevtive answer here, because people are biased and in the end it's matter of personal opinion. In real life people can snap really quickly, if there is potential for that. It's called snap for a reason lol But I think this plot development will be debated for the years to come.

So much for Varys having a few final tricks up his sleeve. Holy fuck was he useless post-KL. They really wasted his character when I think back to how good he was with LF and others in earlier seasons. He did absolutely NOTHING after 610. I guess his big final move was trying to have one of his little birds poison Dany. Pretty lame. D&D kinda forgot how to handle these cunning characters. Tyrion, Varys and LF all reduced to quite hollow and borderline useless characters and then killed off. Also quite funny how the borderline 21st century anti-aircraft system suddenly failed when the plot needed it to.

Also quite funny how the borderline 21st century anti-aircraft system suddenly failed when the plot needed it to. Yeah, this bit is bugging me quite a bit now in retrospect. They managed to hit Rhaegal three times with speed and accuracy, while the ships are supposedly 'hiding' behind the island no less, and yet she takes out the entire fleet and every scorpion in a matter of minutes. It feels like Rhaegal's death wasn't earned at all and he was just a lame plot device for Euron.
