Was just thinking about the House of the Undying vision and it turns out it was Dany, not the NK, who was meant to bring winter to King's Landing all along.
Can't blame Mel for misinterpreting these things sometimes ...

One bowl we all missed out on was the Danebowl. NCW killing Pilou, his old actor buddy who used to babysit his kids while he was still the more famous Danish actor. I don't know if NCW suggested Pilou for the role or if it was all just coincidental but it's funny to me that the two have known each another for so long within such a small country's theater and film community and that the ending designated for them brought them back together thusly. And they actually called it this in the Game Revealed! This one really shows why it took them so long to make, Jesus.

I have avoided posting because I really didn't like the way the Night King went down so easy. All the build up for a supernatural being who has been gathering power for 1000s of years that dies within a few hours of attacking Winterfell. POOF and he is dead. The Long Night was actually the long afternoon. BUT I promised myself that wouldn't dwell on the bad and focus on the good.
Which is why I desperately needed this episode. A lot of good scenes to pull from. Jamie and Tyrion's last scene together was fantastic. It was the type of scene that reminded me of the first few seasons where the focus was on the characters not the action.
The Mountain and Hound death fight was AWESOME. Loved it.
Although I thought that D & D kinda threw away Jamie's 7 season long redemption arc by having him run back to his sister in the end. I still find Jamie and Cersei's love story one of the most fascinating I have scene on screen. I knew it wouldn't happen but I hoped they would escape to Pentos together and live a quiet life with their child. Even though Cersei is a horrible person who doesn't deserve a happy ending I still felt bad for her.
The dragon scenes were FREAKING great. I was like FINALLY lets see what a dragon can do at full force. I was so glad Drogon just ripped through any and all defenses like a NFL team playing a HS football squad. Although Dany's ultra quick turn to evil by purposely burning children was very very rushed and the show didn't leave much of any time for character development, but whatever, not going there. The optics were outstanding.
So now it's evil Dany vs everybody
I'm hoping for a Greyworm vs Jon one on one fight scene next week.

Jon could barely beat Karl fookin Tanner. GW would mop the floor with him.

When Varys took off his rings when he heard the soldiers coming to arrest him, do we think he was leaving them so the serving girl Martha could continue trying to poison Dany? Or...not?
Whew, let us be thankful we have this relatively quiet, relatively sane corner of the internet to discuss the show, because the GoT fandom elsewhere is going full-on batshit crazy raging, sneering, belittling every single thing about last night's episode and this whole season. Arya's flight thru the city was stupid Mary Sue, Euron and Jaime's fight was ridiculous and loaded with cheesy cringe dialogue, Cleganebowl was so badly done it was painful to watch, on and on and on. All I can say is, I must have watched a different episode last night, because I watched some of the most breath-taking, jaw-dropping tv I've ever seen in my life.

This forum is great. The best GoT forum. There are people who don't like the writing, but they are normal humans lol

and what we've always thought to be snow turned out to be ash. No. It’s clearly snow. I thought it meant that Dany has to face winter first before she could go to war for the Throne.

Some great bits, i especially loved Varys’ execution, Drogon burning the fleet and scorpions (their sudden downgrade from last week aside), the chump ass fall of the golden company (i literally LOL’d) and Cleganebowl. The rest looked gorgeous. But i did not like it for a multitude of reasons. And while i’m a dany fan through and through i think it was the end for Cersei and Jaime which was the worst
