Lads didn't mention anything about Dany running in to trouble on the way to Dragonstone - he said that she only had the one line ( "Shall we begin?") in the premiere, so the impression I got was that she won't appear until the episode's final sequence (which should be fairly long). I wonder if this EW reporter is conflating Euron's attack on Yara and Ellaria's forces from Episode 2 with Dany's journey to Dragonstone in the premiere. That would be my guess, actually, because as far as we know, Dany and Euron don't ever meet face-to-face until the Dragonpit sequence. EW obviously gets inside information regularly (or at least James Hibberd does), but Lads is proven at this point. Euron attacking Dany in the premiere doesn't seem like something he would overlook, especially since it seems reasonable that he would secure his alliance with Cersei first. If not, then I guess it's possible that this could be part of a sequence that was written after Lads got hold of the scripts - perhaps the action sequence that necessitates the Sand Snakes having stunt doubles credited for the premiere.I think this is what happened. lads also said that olenna and dany don't meet face to face. and we now know from WOTW that they do. i think D&D just decided to add more of dany's alliance with the sands and yara so it doesn't just feel like they did nothing and are immediately defeated by euron/cersei I'm coming around to this idea as well. We know that after Varys recruited Ellaria and Olenna to Dany's cause, Martell and Tyrell ships accompanied him back to Meereen to join Dany's armada as a sign of their new alliance. But that doesn't necessarily mean that Ellaria and Olenna sailed all the way to Meereen themselves (the Queen of Thorns in particular - I doubt that she would want to take a long sea voyage at her age if she didn't absolutely have to). The Sand Snakes are more likely candidates to have made the trip, because they're younger and they're not the heads of state for their respective kingdoms. Perhaps Euron sends a scout ship to pinpoint Dany's location, and the Sand Snakes are able to intercept it and deal with it (Dany need not be involved). Then, Euron brings the full might of his fleet to bear later, when the Greyjoy/Martell contingent of Dany's forces are sailing down to Dorne. An alternative possibility is that the Sand Snakes could stage some operation in Westeros to prepare for Dany's arrival. Perhaps they could be the ones who who travel to Dragonstone and clear out any surviving soldiers (Baratheon or Lannister) garrisoned on the island before Dany's main fleet gets there. I was perfectly content with the idea that Dragonstone would be entirely abandoned, but I know some people were adamant that Stannis would have left at least a skeleton crew behind. Maybe they were right. Whatever form it takes, I personally wouldn't mind seeing the Sand Snakes make some military contribution, however minor, to Dany's campaign before they meet their end. They're never going to be beloved by most of the fanbase, and a vocal contingent will resent every second of screentime that's spent on them. But they are allegedly capable warriors, and seeing them act as such might help justify Dorne's support for Dany as being more than nominally significant. We all enjoyed seeing Olenna verbally tear the Sand Snakes down, but if you play into the joke too much, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Again, some people's minds are made up, but I would prefer that the characters be treated with a modicum of respect for their remaining time on the show. Let Nym, Obara, and Tyene acquit themselves decently in battle before Euron sweeps them off the board. That's far more than their book counterparts ever got to do. (At the very least, I have no fears that Tyene's death scene will play as a joke. The antipathy between Cersei and Ellaria is fierce and well-established, and as such, the emotions underlying their fateful confrontation will be very real. Seeing Cersei kill Tyene before her mother's eyes in the same manner that Ellaria killed Myrcella in front of her father will be incredibly powerful. I have every confidence that Lena Headey and Indira Varma will act the hell out of it.)

In which episode is Daenerys arrive on Dragonstone happening if she only has one scene in ep. 1?
Her arrival on the shore, walk over the sand, pulling of the old banners off? When does this happen? I might have missed something.

And yeah, I'm sure with good music and acting, this will be pretty dark and intense. More "Cersei with Unella" and less "Ramsay waving a sausage in Theon's face".

That scene sounds awkward. Like she's going to kiss her than wait around for 30 minutes until she dies?

Also, no matter how the scene plays out, I am telling you all now that Lena kissing Rosabel will be my signature for the next few months.

Whew. don't forget missandei and greyworm. jacob anderson is cute and hot imo and nathalie is the most beautiful woman of this cast imo. that should be pretty hot too. i hope the jaime and cersei scene has some sexiness to it too so at least it can make up for how cringey the writing is for jaime/cersei. fingers crossed for some nikolaj shirtlessness in that after-sex scene and that lena isn't covered from head to toe etc

I might have missed something. It's all in the premiere. It will be one big sequence of her arriving and end in the table room where she has only one line to Tyrion.
