I never said the show didn’t give any other reasons, but that was the big one in this episode. Varys betraying her was a foregone conclusion and definitely not enough to make her do something as severe as she did. In this episode, in the 2 minutes belle mentioned, it was the scene with Jon that we were shown directly before the massacre took place. Sounds like you're agreeing that a lot of things contributed to this and it wasn't just Jon refusing to bone her as you suggested up thread. Show me in my post where I said nothing else contributed one bit? I said Jon’s rejection was the big reason we where shown. She hadn’t snapped yet at that point. She was still interested in being with Jon and being a normal human being.

You said it yourself. The last straw. A lot happened before that, which means that not much was needed to push her over the edge. Loss (Missandei, Jorah, Rhaegal, large part of her army), betrayal (Varys and Tyrion to some extent) and rejection (Jon, the people of Westeros) had a strong effect on her psyche. Jon's rejection was as you said the last straw. They went out of the way to make her look pathetic and humiliate even in this regard. That was very low blow. I wonder why D&D hate this character so much to go that low, what Emilia have ever done to them?? Like destroying her character and making her go mad in the span of two episodes wasn’t enough.

That was terrible lol jon has been boring this season too. It feels like his only lines are “she/Dany is my queen” Props to Kit and Lena for raking in that $$$$$ for standing around not doing much. Kit at least had to film action scenes and ride the mechanical dragon. Lena was in the season for like 5 minutes.

Your earlier posts in this thread (the ones @kairos replied to) strongly implied that Jon's rejection was the sole reason or one of the biggest reasons. Which is obviously not the case. It was the big thing in this episode because the show is episodic and it has to stop and start somewhere, but I would say that it was pretty small-potatoes in comparison to what came before. But it was just a trigger. Triggers don't need to be something huge.

No, by humiliating and destroying character that she hold very dear to her heart and identify with like she told us many times. I am very curious what she is going to say weeks from now when the dust settles.

I’d say Missandei’s execution and Jon’s rejection were the main ones. We’ve seen her lose a dragon before and still maintain her composure. We’ve seen people close to her betray her and she didn’t snap. We’ve seen people not want her as their ruler before, etc.

I have no doubt that Emilia was disappointed, but at the end of the day, she's an actress and this is the sort of meaty part that actors dream of. I don't think she'd have been THAT upset about it.

I think we can at least all agree that Emilia Clarke did her best work this season and she deserves all the recognition and awards for it.

And so she should. Emilia has been the MVP of this season for me and it hasn't even been close. I always thought S1 would be her best work, but this is blowing it out of the water.
