When I first looked at the poster, I missed that it's not only paying tribute to Daenerys: Jaime's golden hand and Cersei's necklace are lying there amidst the rubble. I appreciate that, because I was surprised that Jaime and Cersei's deaths weren't the focus of the Beautiful Death poster for 8x05 - HBO and Robert Ball went with CleganeBowl instead (a perfectly valid choice, and a great poster, but I was a little sad that Jaime and Cersei weren't going to get a tribute). Perhaps HBO chose CleganeBowl for 8x05 because they were sticking to the narrative (as seen with the dust-up over Lena and Nikolaj's EW exit interviews with James Hibberd) that the Lannister twins weren't *officially* confirmed dead until we saw their bodies in the finale (sort of like how Barristan didn't get his poster until a week later because we weren't sure whether or not he was actually gone). And with so many major characters dying in "The Bells", they had plenty of choices.
Regardless, it's a beautiful poster, and while Daenerys is deservingly the primary focus, I'm glad that Jaime and Cersei were acknowledged as well.

Carice was submitted for guest actress btw. So I hope she at least gets nominated. GoldDerby doesn't think she will currently but It might get HBO to finally give her the cash to make the Garbo movie she's wanted to do forever.
I just checked their combined odds, and she's currently 5th in their rankings, so she's a contender at least. Granted, the Guest Acting categories are always far more of a crapshoot than the Lead and Supporting categories (there's always at least one nominee that makes me do a double take). But I feel much better about Carice's chances in the Guest category this year than I ever did all those times she was submitted in Supporting. With Diana Rigg no longer in the category, there's an opening for Carice to take that slot. Plus, she was great in "The Long Night"! Here's hoping ...

She was at sixth yesterday. So I'm glad they think she'll at least get a nod now. Though I've no idea why that would change in just a day.

There is a chance for her to be nominated, but no way she will win. If Rigg didn't last year with her iconic death scene, I don't think Carice will.
It seems that Dinklage is the only GoT actor with enough support from Academy to actually win. The rest will have to be satisfied with nominations.

I liked that the poster included the thousand swords of the IT that Dany envision and the whole color scheme is done red and black, the colours of the Targ sigil.

There's supposedly three more minutes of this featurette as well. Hopefully the GoT channel puts the whole thing up.

Lindsay Ellis (aka my absolute favourite person on YouTube) just released a 45 minute long video on Game of Thrones ... and it's so good.

It would be really nice is someone actually knew the context of that Benioff's quote.

It would be really nice is someone actually knew the context of that Benioff's quote. If you expect any analysis in good faith, particularly from the likes of youtubers, you'll have to wait a long time. That soundbite is all these people need to make hay from. Just meme-ify a critique, circulate it widely and let the ball roll. Any counterargument can just be countered by the meme being repeated. And then you have reddit who think GrrM saying Chernobyl should get an Emmy means that he thinks GoT shouldn't...despite the fact that miniseries and tv shows are nominated in different categories. And that GrrM would get to go on stage too if they win again, something he'd very much appreciate. But whatever. These people genuinely think that D and D changed the ending at the last minute and that Dany's fate is their invention. For once I actually want ADOS to come out so I can see their reactions then. Maybe they'll say D and D hijacked GrrM's computer. Or that GrrM changed his mind at the last minute too.

I mean criticising the show is not important but it'a really scary how people repeat false things over and over. It's scary because it is used in politics. And that is important.

I mean criticising the show is not important Of course. But the mass inhumanity being showed here will certainly dissuade future generations of writers from getting involved with big projects with huge messy entitled fandoms. Which will have an effect on the quality of film and tv at least. These people feel genuinely entitled to publicly humiliate tv writers for their writing. They feel that is somehow fair and just. If you look at that godforsaken heinous fucking subreddit, they're reveling in the chance to shame D and D in public. They want blood. And to what end? If they hated s8 why can't they just leave it at that? There's plenty of show's I've liked but I didn't like their endings. Or movie series that I wished had stopped sooner than they did. I didn't want people marching like there'd just been a fucking massacre or an illegal war. I just said "too bad" and left it at that. I wouldn't for a second think Francis Ford Coppola needed to be harassed for making the Godfather 3 for instance. How could anyone think that that was proportional? These freakfolks are utterly delusional. They honestly want to spend money out of pocket to fly down to Comic Con... for the express purpose of making the people who created and produced a show they once loved and wished had ended to their liking feel bad about themselves. Their discontent OVER A TV SHOW is such that they feel it needs to be taken as seriously as a war criminal's tribunal? With fucking mass protests and hissing mobs? What fiendish goblin fuckholes! What utter shitheel baboons! I feel guilty for ever having taken part in the feeding frenzy that was their subreddit. For encouraging anyone to take part in it in the leakbowl threads. If I knew these disgusting larval molerats would be practically inciting violence because they didn't like a finale, I'd have left this sordid musty shitbead of a fandom years ago.

I think half of GoT's current fandom need mental help. They are calling for harassment, physical assaults and some even assassination of Benioff and Weiss at Comic Con. For what? Because they think S8 was bad? It's insane.
It is no coincidence that Stephen King who wrote Misery liked this season lol
I mean just get a life and fuck off already. You are entitled to nothing. Even (in your opinion) good season.
